Frank B. Roman C.S.C. Papers, 1901- 1985
Frank B. Roman Witkowski (1913-1985) was a Polish American scholar and historian, a member and the former President of the Polish American Historical Association
Arrangement in Series: Personal Papers; Research Materials - Polish American Studies; Studies on the History of Polish Roman Catholic Church.
The collection contains correspondence between Frank Roman and his family (1943-1963) and his biographical data. The series "Research Materials - Polish American Studies" contains notes and press clippings on the Polish effort during War World II, Poland's Millennium and the history of the Polish American ethnic group in: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Also there are bulletins and correspondence of the Polish American Historical Association (1951-1978). In the series - "Studies on the History of Polish Roman Catholic Church" are records and photographs of the Czartorysk Mission in Eastern part of Poland (1920-1941) and an article "War and Five Months of Soviet Regime" by Frank Roman. There are notes and materials on the history of Polish Roman Catholic Church in the USA, Congregation of the Holy Cross in Illinois and Indiana Provinces and also on the Polish National Catholic Church.
