Archival holdings: collections documenting the history
of the City of Buffalo and the surrounding region (200,000 photographs,
2,000 items in manuscript collections). The main Polish collection
is Francis Eustachius Fronczak Papers (1880-1947). Francis Fronczak
was a Polish physician, an active member of the Health Commission
for the City of Buffalo (1910-1947), President of the Polish
Relief Committee during World War I and member of the Red Cross
Mission to Poland after World War I. The collection contains
correspondence, bulletins and reports of various professional
societies, health organizations and cultural organizations. There
are also private notes, a large collection of photographs and
correspondence with Ignacy Paderewski (1905-1939).
Other holdings: The library possesses 20,000 books and microfilms of Buffalo newspapers (XIX to XX century).
