Founded in 1977
Archival holdings: Records related to the history of
Poland and Polish American community. The most important of them
is Henry Archacki Archive, a collection of the Polish-American
journalist and artist (ca. 1900-1990). The materials concerning
Polish and Polish-American history and culture, include letters,
photographs, clippings, historical writings and notes, newsletters,
directories, certificates, audio and video tapes. Also materials
about many Polish-American organizations - the Polish National
Alliance, the Polish National Union of America, and the Polish
Falcons of America, information on Polish press published in
the United States. Research materials on Polish Americans participation
in the American Civil War. Correspondence with many Polish-American
writers, painters, sculptors, photographers, historians, and
military officers. Old maps collection. Quantity: ca. 50 cubic
ft.
Other holdings: Collection includes museum holdings - artifacts, paintings, displays and exhibits illustrating the important achievements of people of Polish heritage, as well as a Polish ethnic library.
