Polish archives in Canada
Archival records are the evidence of the history and activities of organizations, institutions, families and individuals. Polish archival records in North America tell us about the history of Polish Americans as an ethnic group. Our mission is to protect our archives against destruction or loss because they are our national heritage and the proof of our identity.
As an active partner in the research program of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Head Office of the States Archives in Warsaw we gather information about Polish archival collections in North America and publish it on this website.
This appeal is to all generations of Poles in America: If your institution possesses processed or unprocessed Polish and Polish American archival collections you may add a short description of your holdings to our website. In this way information about your archives will be easily accessible for researchers. You may do it through regular mail by filling out a questionnaire or send information by e-mail to us using this data sheet.
We are interested in information on records produced by individuals, businesses and institutions. They may occur in any of the following forms:
