Contact person: Janina Kedron - Deputy Executive Director

In the 1960's the library was organized and directed by a professional librarian, Dr. Alfred Berlstein, formerly head of the Slavonic Division of the New York Public Library. This reference library is a basic center of scientific, cultural, historical and business information about Poland. The library contains over 40,000 volumes of books from the 16th to the 20th century. The books are classified according to a modified Dewey Decimal system. At present we have in our holdings 8,000 brochures and 500 titles of periodicals from 1889 to 1999 and Rare Books collection. The library also documents the life and history of Poles in the USA, and both the library and archives serve to this unique objective. Finding aids - card catalogue. The card catalogue is being replaced with an electronic resources catalogue and partly published in the Net.
